What is it about being home alone that makes me want to watch scary movies?
Thats literally what I've been doing all day. Theres been a marathon of them on
syfy so thats been on since i woke up this morning...
Im currently watching Friday The 13th, (the one from 2009) and its making me think
that watching all these films was probably a bad idea. But guess what, I'm doing it
anyway! Resident Evil, (the first one) which I've never seen is on next so I'm probably
going to end up watching that too.
Creature Features, movies involving zombies, vampires, and things that go bump in the night as Buffy would say, don't usually scare me as much as serial killer movies, which are usually based in our real world.
I'm not saying they don't scare me, because in truth, they scare the hell out of me, they just dont scare me as much as others.
Movies involving serial killers killers, like Jason for example scare me way more because they have the possibility of actually happening, while zombie films are less likely.
The worst part is when I'm trying to go to sleep after watching one of these movies and I literally cannot stop thinking about it.
Every sound I hear is the creature, or bad guy from the film coming to get me. It's horrible, but I can't help but watch them.
I've noticed that it's only when I'm home alone that i get the urge to watch these movies. Which is probably the stupidest idea ever because if or when, (usually when) i start to freak out, theres no one there to calm me down. So I tent to freak out a little bit more then usual on those days.
Take today for example. Im home alone for the week and I know I'm going to freak out later, but I cant help but watch the scary marathon or whatever its called. Its times like this that living in the basement apartment is not so great because there are two storage rooms that are dark and creepy and even closing and locking the doors does no good because the big bad scary things always seem to find a way around those...
SO i have decided that I'm going to sleep upstairs tonight and hope and pray that my cats aren't zombie cats when i come back down in the morning.
SO what do you guys think of scary movies? Are there any that horrify you more then others? Do they affect your sleeping? What scares you about them? is it the monsters? the surprises?
Let me know over on twitter.
